Rules: For both Indoor and Outdoor
***Attendance is required at practice everyday. We will practice everyday, (not Saturday and Sunday) UNLESS YOU RECEIVE A REMIND MESSAGE saying practice is canceled for the day. If you are going to be absent from school/practice you must fill out the google form below.
***You are required to finish each practice before you can leave. There will be a schedule followed everyday...Warm-Up; Dynamic Stretching, Running Workout, Strength Work, Cool Down, Stretch.
***Cell phones are prohibited at practice. Your "ride" should be aware of practice times, so cell phones should not be used until after you have stretched.
***Attendance is required at every meet even if you are injured. The only excuse for missing a meet is to be absent from school due to sickness.
***Every athlete is required to stay the entire duration of the meet. The meet is not over until the 4x400 has been ran. If you are not riding the bus home, you must ride home with a parent or guardian.
***You will warm up according to the placement of your first event. We will go over this later.
INDOOR TRACK: You must finish the season in good standing and participate in all the meets.
OUTDOOR TRACK: In order to letter for the 2019 season you MUST finish the season in its entirety. This includes participation in championship meets (county, conference, regionals, states) or if not earning a spot on the championship team, attending the championship meets (county or conference) to cheer on the team. You must also accumulate 100 points for the season. Here is how to earn points.
**Perfect attendance at practice (No days missed.): 40 points
***1 or 2 days missed at practice, but only due to being absent from school for sickness: 35 points
2. Running an event for the 1st time. Sometimes you will be asked to try something new. Doing this is scary, we understand....therefore you will be rewarded: 5 points
3. Scoring during a meet. You will be awarded points every time you score in any event. The amount of scorers at each meet will depend on number of teams attending. Here is the breakdown.
1st: 10 points
2nd: 6 points
3rd: 4 points
4th: 3 points
5th-6th: 2 points
4. Improvement. Each time you improve in any event you will receive points. 2 points
5. Losing points: You will be deducted points in the following ways...
***leaving early from a meet:-10
***unexcused absence from practice: -20
***missing an event: -10
***using profanity: -10
***being disrespectful to coaches, parents, or other track members: -10
***not completing all requirements at practice or cell phone use: -5
Participate in County or Conference-25 for each
Score in County or Conference- Double point value
Score twice in County or Conference-Bonus 10
Score 3 times in County or Conference-Bonus 10
1st or 2nd in County or Conference Meet-Automatic Letter
MVP of meet-Automatic Letter
Regional Qualifier-Automatic Letter
State Qualifier-YOU ARE AWESOME
